In Italy in the summers of the 1960 s in night clubs all around the peninsula, Italian singers would entertain holiday makers. Contd... Exceptions to this were Neil Sedaka and Paul Anka. Possibly because their names sounded Italian! They were big hits with their audiences, and it was decided to re-record their hits in the Italian language. Many other American and British artists sought to capitalise on this by also attempting to conquer this market. They failed to ingnite, however. Whether this was due to lack of promotion by their record campanies subsidiaries, lack of airplay, or both, virtually all of their offerings sank without trace. We have raided the dustiest of archives (achoo!) and salvaged many of these delightful efforts. So pour yourself a glass of Chianti and enjoy! Saluti!
